Information systems relates to a system of persons, data records and activities which processes data and information in an organisation. It refers to the particular application software in which is used to store data records in a computer-system and automates some information processing activities of the certain organisation.

Types of information systems are:

• Transaction processing system- this system automates the handling of data about business or transactions. The data about each transaction are captured, transactions are then verified and accepted of rejected and the validated transactions are stored for further grouping.
• Computer security- this system varies from protecting the computers information, or the preservation of availability.
• email system- this is a method of creating, transmitting or storing text-based human communications with digital communications systems.
